cylinder misfiring (4-5-4)

cylinder misfiring (4-5-4)
the extra codes are not helping.
I have a couple of questions here...
Which side do you start counting cylinders from?
I know most cars starts from the belts (1) towards the gears (5).
BUT... when I was looking for my purge valve, I accidentally disconnected the 2nd connector to the injector from the passenger side towards the driver side. It gave me a hell of a fireworks... Code read something like "1-4-5 Injector no. 4 cylinder faulty signal"
Now that the 3-1-5 went away,... I decided to let the horses have a good run...
At roughly 3500 rpm, turbo on,... my car was stumbling (felt like it was stepping on the wrong foot).
After backing off on the gas, it went back to normal.
There weren't any check engine light, but 5-4-3 and (4-5-4 Misfire cylinder no. 4) was logged.
I had these hesitations before, but never this serious... (There were at lease 5 or 6 of these stumbling in a rapid succession.)
I checked my ignition wires and found that the 2nd wire from the passenger side is giving me a very different reading from the others. Which brings me to the next question, what is the resistance on a healthy set of cables?
My thoughts:
I HOPE it is related to the ignition wires (they were as old as the car - 180k km), AND I hope it's nothing to do with loosing compression in the chambers.
It SEEMS like it's just that one cylinder misfiring under load. Again, I had maybe one or two misfires when I go up a steep hill (after a down shift -> higher rpm + turbo)
IF my assumption of 1 cylinder misfiring, it should rule out fuel linerelated problem up to the injectors.
Could it be spark plugs related?
PLEASE don't be the injectors (there weren't any indications of bad injectors... code wise...)
Anyways, I've wrote a long enough essay...
Any advice would help,
THANKS

Hello mate,
>PLEASE don't be the injectors
OK, don't be the fuel injectors......[8D].
At 180,000 kms/112,500 miles, you're past due date for scheduled maintenance. Bougicord, the OEM ignition wire mfg based in France, recommends replacement at every 96,000 kms or 112,000 kms. Your car probably needs a good tune-up now, or more problems are waiting in line. Check out my post at:

If you stand in front of the car looking at the engine, cyl 1 is on the left beside the timing belt. That of course is unless you are using a mirror, then it would be to the right

But if you project the image in the mirror into another mirror, then the right side should be on the right side, or is it not....? I think I am confused too.

Are you sure this car has more than one ignition coil? Maybe you mean plug wire? I thought it had a single coil and it was plugged using a wire to the center of the distributor cap
