Default Damn.....

Well, the 95 turbo might be done.......... Noticed a pretty fair oil leak coming from the area of the oil pressure sending unit. Well, long story short, as I was feeling around with my fingers the sending unit fell off in my hands! It had broken off FLUSH with the block. So there is the threaded piece basically stuck in the block. The car has 260,000 miles, needs rear brakes and tires, and front struts. Everything else works on it and it ran just fine, but I do not have the tools or the time to pull everything off the top end of the motor to get the room to try to drill it out, and re-tap it. And the cost of a new motor or having someone do the drill/tap work for me is almost the cost of a decent replacement. So, what do you think, fix it, part it out, or sell it as is for $500.

You shouldnt have to drill at all. That sensor should have a nice hole in it just big enough for an easy-out.

That is definitely worth a shot. Can't make it much worse. The only thing I hope is that I have enough room to work. Guess I could take the fan shroud off to give me some room.

Those threads would be very slick and greasy, so it ought to be relatively easy to remove.
