Dash lights? I has a 96 850T. After car have run for hour or so the dash (courtesy lights) will go out. If you turn the main lights to parking (back one click) then back again it like resets and will work again. Goes any one know about this?

 

Sounds like you have a faulty headlight switch

Also, it is possible that the dash light dimmer control switch (reostat) is the problem.

 

quick way to test would probably be to fiddle with the dimmer when the problem happens.

 

One of my dash lights go out. I just smack it and it comes back on.

 

That is definitely the manly way to fix things. Just smack it around a little until it works. Until you poke your fist right through the dash like I did on a 78 Jeep Wagoneer when the radio quit working. I had been just tapping it for quite some time then one day a light tap did not work, so instead of investigating I just kept tapping a little harder. Put my hand right through the padded dash where the center speaker is located. I still do it on things though. When my "light bulb burnt out" light comes on on the dash, I just walk back and smack the right rear tail light and it fixes the problem.

Dash lights as in all warning lights, odometer, speedometer, engine lights, etc on the dash board. Switch on all lights come on, but switch turned all the way to start engine the lights go out?
