Directional issues
Hi. I just bought a 1994 volvo 850 with 160k miles on it. I love it. But I am having a big issues. In New Hampshire we need to pass inspection. I can't because of my passanger side directional is not working. Here is what I did..
I replaced the front passanger directional bulb because it did not turn on when the lights where on. Now my drive side works fine. My passanger side when turned on without the headlights being on, blinks all of my directional lights on both sides and my rear running lights and my rear plate lights.
With my headlights on and I turn on my passanger directional, it turns on and stays on without blinking.
Is this a grounding issue or a relay issue or is it something else?
Help... Thanks
Steve

Ok, I checked the light bulbs and they only have one contact not the two that are in the picture above. If I turn on the headlights without the front passanger directional light in is the rear passanger directional bulb only, no other lghts blink and the dash light turns off. I am not convinced that the headlight switch is it? Any other thoughts?
Thanks

A bulb somewhere or a shorted wire. Again, make sure you have the proper bulbs installed in all locations. Not sure if it's the same with the 850, but the 960 uses the hazard switch as a relay. The switch is about 6 inches long.
