Default DIY Cold Air for $100 - Looking for link

I know it's out there! I found it a few months ago, and now I can't find the link again.

It was for a DIY Cold Air Induction using an APEXi cone filter, some 90's, a rubbermaid paint bucket, etc.

Does anyone have the link handy? Now that my wife actually wants me to improve our 850's performance a bit, I can't find the link. CAI will be the first step in the list. CAI, Exhaust, ECM Upgrade... you all know the drill.

thanks for your help.

anyone know where you can find the rubbermaid paint bucket? I stopped by home depot looking for that bad boy, they don't have anything like that.

To be honest they might not sell that product anymore. I am searching for it via GOOGLE with no luck.

I have heard numerous times that the stock airbox is very very good and CAI is unnecessary (unless you want the looks).

That is ****ing ghetto.

The factory box pulls cold air in and is sealed. Throw a k&n panel filter in and call it a day. You also have an intercooler that will cool the air after the turbo heats it up. If you want cold air, but a bigger intercooler, get alky injection, or spray your i/c with water.

Ok the whole idea was to make a CAI like what is available for hundreds of other cars on the market. Since the only CAI on the market for Volvo's is the K&N Typhoon intake for the newer s40 models.

Yeah it might not be something cool to look at, but it is what it is.

Yeah the stock airbox is the best setup. However it is "STOCK", which a lot of people would like to get away from if they are going the aftermarket route.
