I popped off the Volvo emblem on my driver side front quarterpanel just now and there are two wires that go into a plastic harness right into the emblem! What could these possibly be as I am totally baffled. The emlem is just a regular plastic one, nothing special.

 

Some have a side marker light. That is what the wiring harness is for. If you want the lights you can probably pick them up online pretty easily.
