I recently bought my first Volvo and as my username says I believe I over paid but I was in a jam financially and needed to get out of the lease I was in. Anyways the engine that's in this 850 turbo was well maintained and documented until the last owner got it. And I believe he was driving it with a hole in the rad, but that's a different story. It's for that reason though I'm wanting to put a "new" engine in. I'm curious though will a 2000 V70 turbo engine drop in and bolt up to my 850's trans and engine mounts. I found some1 parting out a V70 and think I can get the engi e farley cheap.

 

99+ turbo engine will drop in, but your 850 will not have the VVT control. You can make it work without VVT, but it is not optimal. RN engine swap is what you want to search for.
