Engine Fan problems.
I just bought my first volvo and it just so happens to be a volvo 850 turbo. the temp was riding normal on the trip home (80 miles) but when i starting driving around town the warning light came on and the temp went up. opened the hood and found out the fan was not working. was hopping someone could tell me a some ways to test it or mainly the reply.
Thanks.
Note: 1995 volvo 850 turbo with 150k miles on it.

Test the fan by putting 12v directly to the connector to test the fan. If the fan works, you're not getting 12v to run it when it's hot. Check for 12v when the engine is hot. Lastly check the thermo switch for temperature onset and operation.
