Some of the stainless steel braid is frayed and loose on my exhaust manifold, is this bad ?
Does not seem to leak or be too noisy,
will it surely leak soon?
There is an inner liner, I have ebngine out and wonder if i should replace, $250.00 kinda blows the budget

if it were me, I'd replace it, because it's gonna probably go bad before long anyway.

 

it will end up looking like this. and you will have to change it. Pictures are from a N/A V70.

 

Another thing i would think about is WHY is this happening. DO you have bad motor mounts, and the engine is rocking and wearing it out? Something to think about...

 

Oh ! Nice point , thank you, the car is very clean and I do like it so I think I will take everyones advice and spend a couple bucks and revive her.
