Hello bjt 1989,

You could try Bosal or Borla for a larger diameter tip, I only use factory tip so I am not sure which tip gives you more power and low sound. You probably have to replace the muffler/header pipe as well to increase horse power, usually people install stainless-steel header pipe (exh manifold) to increase power, as well as mushroom-shaped, exposed-type intake air filter.

850 sedans come with rectangular tip, I don't know about the wagons. Could be the same, or could be a round type. I like chrome tip but factory tip is painted in black, which is ok for my 850 as the car itself is black and it still looks nice.

Good luck,

Ok here we go again. You guys happier now?

1. You wont gain any Horsepower by just adding a tip. I mean come on it is just a tip. It is on there for cosmetic purposes ONLY.

2. You may gain a little bit of sound, but not much. Not like adding an exhaust system.

If you want sound. Slap a new Magnaflow muffler on your car, or any straight through design muffler. But again you wont really gain any Hp with just adding a muffler.

If you want Hp and sound. I suggest going with a full turboback system. 3" downpipe to a 2.5" catback system with a Magnaflow muffler. You will see the most gains with the three inch downpipe and then the 2.5" catback will add a little more Hp plus you will get a very nice sound.

Also since you are turboed DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT go with a baffled muffler of any kind. You want the most free flowing exhaust system you can get with a turbocharged vehicle. So any straight through design muffler will do. For example a Magnaflow muffler. They soumd great as well.

You want a larger pipe especially w/ a Turbo.

It will relieve backpressure and give you more power.

Your right, but just an exhaust tip will not do this.

So like I said before a 3" downpipe to a 2.5" catabck system with give you more power and a great sound. Also like I said before you will see the most power gains with the downpipe. Mandrel bends are the best as a turbo wants the most free flowing exhaust possible. And no baffled muffler only straight through design mufflers like Magnaflow.

And why I say 3" downpipe to 2.5" exhaust is because if you don't plan on going to a bigger turbo a full 3" system isn't needed. But the 3" downpipe is, if you want to see power gains though an exhaust system.

If it's about looks just go to an auto accessories shop grab whatever takes your fancy and bang it on - it will not improve performance one iota as the other posts have already indicated.

If you are after performance, talk to a performance specialist and run with their recommendation - and be prepared to spend big bucks.

Personally, I think the 850 turbo goes pretty hard in its basic form and, unless you are an absolute performance freak, I don't think the improvement warrants the cost.

Please remember there is no cheap way of improving performance.
