Smile Experience With Pod Filters?

Has anybody had any experience with installing a pod filter on a 1996 850? (Base Model 2.4 N/a Sedan)
Did it offer any improvement over the stock filter? Sound any better? Would I need to remove or modify the air-box to install the filter or do they make adapters?
Thanks for any input!
-Luke

Ps. Do you see any issues that could arise from this setup?

I doubt you will get any improvement in performance as the Volvo airbox is pretty open to begin with. You will lose the preheat - but if you don't live in the cold not a problem. You may get a bit more sound if you remove the airbox but not sure if that's the point. You can always leave the airbox in and use a flat KN filter.

It'll make your intake sound louder. Performance? Not so much.

You would recommend the K&N box filter?
