Cleared codes but CEL light will not go away, running good
Hey guys, It's been a while I hope all of you are doing well.......Here is my odyessy ......like an idiot I wanted to check my air filter with the engine running. the MAF sensor came loose and the car shut off. I knew my check engine light would come on and I was prepared to clear it.
The code that it threw out was 2-1-4, which is odd because that is RPM signal interruption.
Well I cleared the code 3 times and everytime I re-check I get 1-1-1, indicating no codes, but my Check Engine light will not go off.
Any ideas? car is running great as it should, no issues, everything works well, 173K miles now, turns over and starts up nice. Maintenance is kept up religiously.
Should I unplug the battery overnight? Will it go away on it's own after a few hundred miles?
My OCD is not gonna let me sleep until this is fixed

Maybe ignition codes and fuel injection codes need to be cleared separately. I'm just grasping. Seeing as how you didn't even see the code that you needed to clear yet. The car has three separate power train computers, yes?
You can try to pull the battery cables and as an added extra measure after about 10 minutes short the two battery cables together for a couple seconds to ensure any stored voltages are eliminated. Probably not necessary but........ Anyway, after you re-connect the cables the light should stay out.
