Question Faded bumper trim

Is there a clever way to remove plastic bumper trim so it can be spruced up? I am nervous about messing something up beyond repair.
Thank you

There alot of topics on this already....
But,
The best way that I have found aside from painting is showroom new, and there is no need to remove the trim.

I decided to paint mine with the bumper and trim paint the last time I did mine..
Some taping is required but I prefer the results.

Try a heat gun, remember to cover the painted parts with a wet rag or towel and do not hit it in one place for too long, the bumpers will go back to oem color or close to.
Be extra careful the heat gun will bubble the car paint.

Thanks for the quick response and input guys. Yesterday I spent much time removing trim and treating it with Forever Black dye. Improvement was negligible. Not worth the effort. So as much as I hate masking I guess my next attempt will include Duplicolor. I've used the product in the past. I was trying to find a better way.

There is another way,much cheaper,

Use linseedoil(but be carefull, only on the grey parts, will stain)then they'll be good as new for at least a half year,or longer)

put on with a cloth and just rub it in.

Matty, I am in Clearwater. I do appreciate the offer to help. I remember my one and only experience painting a car. Although it turned out well it came at a high cost, (my wits). I can't remember exactly anymore but I know it would not be an exaggeration to say I sanded and painted at least six times. But I will say there were no runs and no orange peel

BTW, I bought some Duplicolor and masking tape today

I have used Forever Black a couple of times on different 850's and really liked my results. I think it's real important to make sure you have the parts super clean or the dye won't soak in good. I also used 2 coats.

From what I have heard, the heat gun process is a 2 year plan. Not sure how long the bumper paint last or if it chipps. I'm about to put some bumper trim paint on a set of roof racks. Hopefully it will hold up well.

Anything that last less than a year is a waste of time to me.

This is what I did on the white car I owned. Worked great and still looks pretty good. That's my son in law's car now.
