Default Cruise control works, sometimes...

My cruise control works sometimes, sometimes it does not. It's kinda crazy. Yesterday it worked all day, anytime anywhere. This morning on the way to church it would NOT work at all. On the way home it worked for a little while and would kick itself off. Turn it back on ok, then 2 minutes later it would kick off again.

Does anyone have any ideas? I don't think it's vacuum because it works fine some days. This has been going on since I've owned the car.

I removed the brake pedal switch and re-installed it after adjusting the plunger. Seems to work good now. I'll post back if it stops again. I removed the battery to check the vacuum lines under there and they were fine.

For the record mine does EXACTLY the same thing on my 94 850NA 175K. Just too tired to get into it. I've done a TON of stuff lately and I need a break. I have a question for you rspi. Seems I saw a post about the small popcorn bulbs inside the switches for seat heat, rear defogger, rear fog light etc. Do you have a way to replace those without buying the whole switch? I took apart my rear defog switch and it flew apart so I just bought another one on ebay but that small bulb is out in that one also. I can get the bulbs no problem but now I'm gun shy on taking apart any more switches. Or if you have a link I'd appreciate it...thanks!

Just glancing at that gave me a head ache. I will dig into it later this week. The crazy thing about mine is that it works sometimes. Now it did work for a few days straight after adjusting the brake pedal switch. I was thinking about taping that switch close and seeing if it worked fine with the switch taped. If so, I'm thinking that the pedal is not returning all the way all the time or the switch bracket is loose and causing my switch to loose contact.

I'll check it out and post back.
