Default Flashing orange up arrow and check engine light

I was driving my car about month ago and went over a bump slightly hard but nothing too dramatic. The moment I went over this bump my car just died as if I turned it off and the flashing up arrow and check engine light came on. I had to get my car towed as it would not start back up although unplugging the battery and replugging it in made it run for another 5 minutes. I took it too my mechanic and had zero codes and my mechanic has a really good code scanner so it was weird. Either way he checked it out and realized I had a bad fuel pump and my throttle body needed a cleaning so he did. Now this problem happens randomly where it just shuts off while im driving sometimes where parked and i have to get it towed every time. it runs perfect then bam just shuts off i dont know whats wrong. I do have a bad battery charge thpugh nut this happened mid way through my problem.... i think

ok so the up arrow is set my the transmission computer and the check engine light is set by the ECU. Not sure how that fault gets mapped to a fuel pump. Unplugging the battery probably had nothing to do with getting the car restarted but waiting may have allowed something to cool off like the fuel pump relay or the fuel injector relay.

What year/model is your car? Did he tell you what fault codes were presented? Keep in mind voltage issues can create false CEL codes. Sounds to me you have a charging system issue or some related issue with a relay or wiring. If your battery is weak, time to replace, clean up the terminals etc. Your intermittant stalls can be caused by an alternator dropping out from time to time but that's hard to diagnose until its in full fail mode. Will the car restart with a jump after it stalls? Does it crank on the restart try or just click and nothing?

I never tried jumping the car but every time the battery has been dead yes jumping it worked. However when i have had the check engine light/ up arrow light problem the engine would crank but would not start and if I waited it may or may not start up agian. It is not something cooling down that is for sure as it will happen even after its been running fine for a while but then one day it will just decide to not start and both the check engine light and arrow light will go back on. It is very very weird and everyone i have brought it too doesnt really have a clue what is going on
