Fluctuating power and black smoke

Any idea as to what could be causing this black smoke and lower power than usual? When this happens the tach fluctuates. I changed my EGR valve a few months ago. Could it be a hose or something?

Sounds like it might be misfiring.

I got a 4-5-5 Code misfire cyl #5

Not sure what year it is but if it is a 98 it might need a full tune up.
If it is a 99 it might needs spark plugs or a coil.

I changed the air mass meter and the problem went
