Default Fluid leaks

Per another post I wanted to create a thread to help solve some problems.

The radiator has a leak coming from (as your facing the car) the lower section of the radiator under the lower rad hose where the metal meets the plastic, close to the petcock.

I jacked the car up from the middle, and when I lowered it there was a six inch diameter spot of oil.

Now I recently changed the oil, and it has never leaked before.

What I am thinking is that it is leaking from the drain plug.

I did not replace the gasket and the current one was just kind of stuck to the pan.

I cracked the radiator on some ice.

Thoughts?

I don't know.

I noticed a puddle of coolant only on the driveway in the snow Sunday morning, and then a similar stain on the street where it was parked today when i moved the car in.

I sure hope I didn't crack it. I jacked from the cross member.

Ugh i hope not.

Hey are the oil pans the same for the non-turbo as they are for the turbo?

I think I will take the car to a shop and have them inspect it before I do anything.

Looked underneath after the car sitting for a while, and there was a small spot of oil the size of a half dollar or slightly smaller. Oil level was the same.

Jack it up and see what you can find.
Also check the intercooler and make sure you didn't crack that.

Well hey

The intercooler is A2A right?

I didn't notice any cracks on the bottom tank of the intercooler (since it comes down)

So, if I did crack it, it looks like I'll just have to do a front mount conversion.

Not too big of a deal.

Haven't really driven it with the coolant leak.

I'm going to try the JB weld tomorrow

Idles fine though, not like that matters.

No funny noises or anything when in idle.

Oh and On the way home after theoretically cracking the radiator, I was on it a little with no issues.

Did a further test drive last night.

Car boosted fine. How do I know? Because it still annihilated the tires over ice, spinning the car to about 60MPH...lol

No signs of further oil leaks. Coolant is still obviously in its slow drip mode.

I checked again and I did jack from that big cross member.

I am going to buy a used iPD skid plate off of a guy in Chicago sometime soon.

He wants $110 shipped for it from Chicago to my house, as I don't feel like making a trip for one part.

I think, since it is used, $75 shipped is fair. No?

I swapped the SC rims to stock today, so now I can have at least something to drive. Just hated taking it out of hibernation. But hey, RWD is still boat loads of fun on snow.

Thursday I will be taking my rim for the Volvo over to the tire shop to have them put bead seal on the front bead. They put it on the back but not the front! Jackasses!

After that I should be fine again. W00T!

Figured some things out.

I JB welded the bottom of the tanks and the driver side held.

The passenger side where one of the hard pipes comes in on the bottom is loose.

Is that a trans cooler line?

I tried JB welding that too but I don't think it did much.

So looks like I'll be ordering a new radiator soon.

But its not leaking as bad, so I'm okay to drive.

Got on it pretty good today and it isn't overheating.

I also figured out where the oil leak came from.

When I tipped the car back on the jack, it came from the drain plug.

No gasket!

Will be picking one up today.

The harder lines that attach to the radiator on the passenger side is the oil cooler lines there is seals in there.

Still seems to leak from behind the oil pan area, maybe from the hard lines there.

Still runs normally. Just leaks!
