foot pans awash! Bail me out!?

The last couple of days, we've had some deluging rain. Drove around in it a bit on Friday, then Saturday a.m. noticed floor mat was soaked. Took it out, so was carpet. Took it up, so was membrane/sound barrier. When I lifted it as far as I could, there was standing water underneath. Sponged it out. Amazingly, the pans aren't rusty.
Puzzle: Can't figure out where all that water came from. It isn't coolant, just plain water (the coolant level is at normal and it's dry on top of the console by the coil and around the firewall).
Last time I washed the car, I noticed some blow through about thigh-high at door seal when sitting in the car, but not a lot. But, for all this water, that area didn't seem even damp.
Both sides and even under the seat and the back floor are wet. Some of that could have sloshed back through the seat mount openings where the heater tubes go through. There was enough water in the front to do that.
The headliner isn't wet, even along the sides.
Insight: Could it be that the sunroof drain hoses are clogged and somehow backing up through the door sill? That seems to be where it's wettest. I can't see where they come out.
Any thoughts appreciated!

You may need to take everything in the floor out, get a water hose and start spraying the car down from the top. It will show it's head sooner or later.
I had water getting in the passenger side of my 740 once, it was a drain hose from the evaporator drain. Got clogged on the outside and was dripping on the inside.
