Not even a question.....take the transmission out of the manual and put it in the turbo. No further debate needed.

Sell the one with the manual transmission to me. I need work on my transmission and I'm thinking of converting it to a 5 Speed manual. Just looking for a donor car.

JimKW, are you looking at your local wrecking yards? I have found 4 in Sacramento over the past few months. I never noticed them until I started looking.

been to every yard around me and volvos in the yard are hard to find and manuals seem most impossible to find.... I was thinking about putting my turbo in the manual car but I dont think I want to give a grand for just a trans and all the other things... might be able to get him down a bit so I might just do it.....

If you have a car with a manual and you have a turbo, do not even think of moving the turbo to the manual car. Once you entertain this idea then start doing your homework you will find that it is HIGHLY discouraged. There is far more than just slapping on a turbo or swapping the engine. Your looking at a ton of electrical work and additional parts.

Take the trans out of the N/A and put it in the Turbo.
