Default Front Seat Map Light Assembly

I'm brand new to this forum and sure glad I found it! I'm the new owner of a 1994 850 sedan and I need a new map light assembly. The center button that controls whether the lights can be switched on is missing and I've been told I have to replace the whole thing. I'm having a terrible time finding the part. I've searched Google and eBay and am hoping that someone on this forum might have a suggestion for where I can find such a part.

I'm also reading that my gear shift should be illuminated (which it isn't) but it sounds a little scary to start fiddling around inside the center console with wires and plugs and transmission connections. Am I being paranoid, because I really think that the gear shift illumination just needs a new bulb.

Any help will be appreciated and I look forward to participating in this forum!

If I am not mistaken, if your car has asunroof that would be part number 9151206 which costs 65-70 bucks. You can get it at eEuroparts.com or at fcpgroton.

My map light asembly was the same way. I found one on E-bay for about $10 and replaced it. It works just fine now. Keep looking and one should pop up on e-bay., or try swedishengineering.com As for the transmission light, changing it is a bit of a pain, but not too hard, do a search and there are instructions on the forum.

Good luck,

Glenn
