Fuel Gauge
Just lately my fuel gauge has been stuck in one position. It just stays in that position no matter how much fuel i put in the car. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some information on how to find out what is wrong. I was thinking it could be the fuel sensoring unit in the tank but that is very expensive to fix if you dont know that is exactly the problem. If anyone could give me some info on finding out what exactly could be the problem i would greatly apreciate it.
I would try unplugging the sending unit and see if the guage goes down all the way.
There is a way to measure resistance but I forget how it has been a long time since I have done it.

I unplugged the sending unit today while the car was running and my gauge did not move at all. When i shut off the car the gauge goes all the way down but that is the only time when it moves. Im pretty sure i was unplugging the right plug acording to my new Hanes manual i FINALLY purchased.
Any other ideas????
