Default Fuel Pump dead!! Help?

I recently found out my fuel pump is broken, i was wondering on any suggestions about how to replace the pump. Do you have to drop the tank to get to it? Is there any secrets on how to replace this?

No you do not drop the tank. The pump is accessed via trunk room for sedan, cargo compartment on the wagon.

Most likely you only need the pump insert, which is considerably less expensive than an entire assy. Shop around:

I wouldn't do the job by myself unless at least the following 2 conditions are met:

- Do the jobin a well-ventilated area.
- Have a bottle of Class-B fire extinguisher.

While the pump is out, take battery flashlight and look down into the tank where the pump sock would reside and make sure there is not a lot of dirt and debris or water. After the new pump is installed onto the assembly, install the pump sleeve seal. Hit it with silicone lube. Install the pump, again apply silicone spray to the nut retaining ring threads for ease of tightening. Good hunting!!!

Whoops, almost forgot, use two large screwdrivers in an x formation against the ring fins to apply pressure on two points to remove and install the retaining ring.

+1 to using a battery operated flashlight, and having a fire extinguisher nearby. Please do this in a well ventilated area as well
