Light out indicatior goes on when I put on the brakes. This comes and goes I have only had car for a few days. Did replace the bulbes for the bracks and the lights work 1997 850 t-5 with 90,000

Did you also check the high-mount lights? On spoilered models, even one bulb out can trigger that light. On non-spoilered models, see if the high-mount lamp is still lighting.

It is a sedan and I just checked the third light and it works.

 

This has just happened to me as well.

When I touch the brakes the light-out warning comes on - a quick tap on the top light (T5 with no spoiler) behind the rear glass confirms it's a dodgy connection.

Try tapping the lights to see if it's intermittant.

When I recently had this same issue, I swapped the right and left bbrake bulbs and no more issue. Your problem is probably a loose/dirty connection

Thanks for the help I unpluged all connections in the third light and it has worked for two days hope that was it a bad connection

Clean the connectors and plug them back in and see what happens. If all the lights in the third brake light work and you still get a bulb out light, I would look for frayed/pinched wires in the third brake light harness
