Default GAS smell!!! need help SOS!

hi! i have 95 volvo 850 turbo i i've been noticing smell of gas too. i've inspected my fuel lines and i didn't find anything suspicious. later on i figured that the smell was coming from the underneath of my battery. i found a black tank with two lines hooked up to it, one of them is leading to the back(gas tank) and the another one is attached to the front of the engine. i took a picture of it so you guys can see and if there is any idea what it is please let me know. Now, there is the third opening "it says AIR next to it" that is where the smell is coming from!!!!!! does anyone know if there should be another hose attached to it or can i just plugg it so it would stop leaking )?

the fumes are coming out of that third opening the one on the left where it says "air". do you think pressure will build up if i plug that hole, i tried to blow in it and i figured all three of them are connected. how hard is it to find a new one?

Yes the 24 one in the pic.
That one port is supposed to be open. That is for fumes to escape if something is wrong with the system.

There is something wrong in the system.
