RE: Getting code P0172 SYSTEM TOO RICH (BANK1).....
Update:P-0172= Volvo code 231/232 Long term fuel trim Idling Upper limit.
Possible sources: Mass flow sensor bad,Low fuel pressure,Air leak,Faulty Pulsation Dampner,Faulty sensor signals.
Did you also have a P0440?
If so then you need to check the Evap system as well.
I would start looking for a Vaccum leak first. TipCheck the end of the intake by the Power steering pump and make sure the Elbow doesn't have a hole in it. That is if you have one.
Then I would check fuel pressure. Then make the Mass flow the last item.
Hope this helps.

Tech- I replaced the front o2 today. What a be-atch to get to the connection. When I did, I found a rubber plug on the intake side that was split in two. I replaced it with a new one. I do see tht a lot of my vacuum lines are getting old. Is there a complete kit out there, for an 850 T-5 or do I have to piece one together as I go along?
