gonna change dist. cap and rotor...info..
Hi guys i plan on changin the distributor cap and rotor on my wagon. What is the prper procedure for this ? is it just a simply undo, change and install? once the rotor is in..do i have to tighten the screws to a certain spec or just until tight? any threadlock needed? do i also need to put dialectic grease anywhere? thanks

Not sure about order of tightening just mark which wires went where, and take them off in an order you can remember, you can put dielectric grease on the tops of the rotor and or in the metal connections of the boots to seal them up, wait for more technical advice since i haven't done this on a volvo before but good luck, if you can show me pictures id like to see how you got at things, since i plan to do this soon
Thanks good luck!
Thanks good luck!
its the easiest thing to do.just make sure you label where each plug goes into what spot on the distributor.no tightening specs.dielectric grease is optional.heres a link that should help you out...

Hey guys, ya i did it today...waasn't that hard. I had one of the hex bolts on the rotor that was tough to get off...sprayed some pb blaster on it and came off ok. It took a little longer as i forgot to but in a piece before closing the cap. i didn't even have to take off the air box!
thanks again

WEll it seems to run a bit smoother actually, on the Peppiness, i'd say the same as before...we'll see if it makes a difference consumption wise. The only thing left for me to hit stage 0 is the 02 sensor...probably later on..
