Default Good deal?

I own a 1993 500e benz right now which needs a little work but is in decent shape. My heart is in trucks so i am selling the benz. I got an offer today for a trade+cash deal. A 1997 volvo 850 t5 plus some cash for my car. The volvo has around 115k on it and is in fair shape. I do have a baby on the way so i figured this would be a good car to have for when he/she comes into this world. but i would also like to mod up the volvo a little bit. maybe computer blow off valve and so on. How are these cars for the long run? will it last a while if taken car of? comfortable? ride nice? any input would be greatly appricated!!!

Thanks again,
possible 850 owner, chris

I love both of mine. I would say go for it.
My white one in my Sig pic has over 220K on it now. It is a daily driver and does about 100 miles a day. It still runs like new. Half way through the oil changes you can still see through the oil.(3K oil changes for turbo's)
Computer,MBC, and a few other things and it will be pretty fast.

For piece of mind, I would suggest taking the car to a Bosch Service center for a buyers check. Ask the owner to split the buyers check with you. I f they balk, walk away.

I'd keep the 500. Some day I'm gonna have a Benz, I've been wanting one of those since my dad got one in 88 when I was 15. Parts and shop costs are a rip off, right?

Trade and cash?

If the car's good, it's a no brainer.
