Good sites for Rare info on 850's?
Does anyone out there have good websites that tell you production years and numbers?
I am looking at an 850 it looks almost like a platinum has the teardrop rims but is a light blue.
I want to try to find out how many were made.

Is that yellow line that goes from the front to the back of the car original? I´ve never seen that on a Volvo.
Look pretty nice, though after this first year with my T5, I think I´d probably get an 850R manual tranny.

I don't think that is a yellow line I think it is just the light the pic was taken in.
I am seeing it for myself today sometime later probably 5:00 or so.
I am going to look it over really good.
BTW Good luck finding a Manual tranny R Very rare is any at all in the U.S.

Good News: I found an interesting site.
Bad News: It's written in Japanese.
http://search.carhoo.jp/wa2954/stock_list.html?rf=2
Their parts section was interesting, though. On the right of the page, you see menu in English and click on "Parts", there are 6 pages and I found a nice crystal headlight for 850. I'll embed the image here.
Good weekend to All,

Yeah I don't think the 850R came with a manual in the US at all. Plenty of people have done the auto to manual swap.
Manuals just don't sell here in the US. I love them on back country roads and hate them in traffic.

When I was younger all I wanted was a five speed. Now I don't like driving one as my everyday commute to work car. I hate being in traffic and pushing the clutch in and out constantly. When I had my Porsche a few years ago, I would rarely drive it to work, but I sure enjoyed drives on the weekends and the evening on back country roads. It didn't have AC or power steering either. I won't have another one without either, but I would still probably go for a five speed in a sports car, but I'll keep driving the R to work. I might sell my Nissan pickup that never gets driven and get a later model Miata. Has to be the ones that don't have pop-up headlights.
Hi Jim,
I still like 5-6 speeds, even in traffic
. Lexus boasts new 8-speed auto, I wonder what the advantage is, drives more like a truck?[8D]
Mazda' Japanese web site has a good promotion for Miata. The page is in Japanese, which could be annoying but if you can get to Miata's page, it may be some fun. Go to the following URL:
http://www.mazda.co.jp/home.html
...and on top of the page, there is a writing that looks like 「カーラインナップã€, move the mouse pointer there and it'll show you all Mazda models. Miata is called "Mazda Roadster" in Japan, and their word for Roadster looks like 「ãƒ*ードスターã€. It is right under RX-8. I tried the exterior photo gallery but was annoyed by slide-show effect, which can be turned off via tiny console on top of the thumbnails. It has some nice photos, though.
I just went to Mazda's US web site and it was more fun, especially the videos. Made me laugh.

Honda S2000 is also available:
http://automobiles.honda.com/models/...odelName=S2000
Or, once again why not another Porsche?
http://www.porsche.com/usa/
Unfortunately, beloved Honda NSX went out of production. But not to worry, they're planning to replace it with V-10 version, probably priced around US $80,000+, affordable to just about anyone[8D].
Have a good Sunday. I have to work until 11p.m[8D]
