Buy the one from IPD. I know that ebay one looks nice, and looks like it's less expensive, but I don't know if you noticed shipping on it? It costs more than the grill itself does. The IPD one would cost about the same.

That's the thing, if you buy the one from IPD, that little piece comes with it, otherwise you would have to fabricate something to make it work. Go with the IPD one if you really want to. Or if you want to save some money, a lot of people spray their stock grilles black, I actually think it looks better than the mesh grilles.

If you really want to do that, you could just find the T-5 emblem from the back of a car, they didn't make those emblems as far as I'm aware, people make them though. You can take off your slash and fill in the indents from where the slash is recessed into the grille with bondo for a very clean look, and not to mention about 80 dollars cheaper than an aftermarket grille.

And if you have bad hoses you will need that 80 dollars. haha. Unfortunately, hoses are fairly expensive. Main ones to check I would say are your turbo hoses as those experience the abuse of expanding due to boost.

Turbo Hoses

They're actually not too bad. If any of them are in poor shape I would recommend replacing them because if your out on a cruise and one of them blow, unfortunately you won't be going anywhere.

My current car is the yellow t5r, with the mesh grille - attached below are some action shots

i got it from ipd over a year ago, but looking on the site now, seems they no longer offer it. there's a small hook that comes thru one of the mesh holes. i keep a pair of pliers in my center console. somebody with strong fingers could probly get it open, but i usually end up hurting myself without the pliers.

also attached is a photo of my first volvo, a 96 wagon glt -
that car had the black mesh with chrome lip style, and it was junk. the plastic mesh was held to the trim with hot glue. after about a month, it was starting to come apart.

the one i have now is much higher quality, with welds. its a silver powdercoated finish, which after over a year of daily highway commuting, it still looks new. all metal construction. if you can find it, its worth the money.

EDIT: this was before i painted the metal tabs that hold on the grille. now, they are flat black, so you cant see the yellow parts thru the grille.
