Smile H&R coil springs

hey guys l am about to upgrade my coil springs.l want to ask if any one has ever used the H&R coil spring with part number 29958. how good is it and does it bring any improve in ride quality and handling and how low does it lower your 850.l dont want my 850 lowered that much. also would anyone recommend this over IPD coil springs?does IPDs coil spring also lower your 850?IPDS coil springs has an ok price but the shipping is ridiculous. these springs cost almost the same price as IPDs and has a discount with free shipping. thanks

The HR's look like a good price. Either set is going to lower your car. As far as drop goes you'll be looking @ about 1.75 inches. I would look for reviews and bas my decision off that. On that IPD page there is a box you can click on for the reviews. Google is your friend for the H&R reviews

In the ipd catalog I have it says ipd's are 2" and H&R are 1.25

If that other company is cheaper for the H&R's, and ipd is selling them for $100 more. And still have to add shipping.

It looks like they just want to beat ipd's price.

Also do you plan to keep the rims/tires you have? ipd's may cause more issues if going bigger later on.

Just my .02 cents, things to think about.

search Volvospeed. Lots of reviews and you'll find lots of pictures. IPD's will lower the car more, but IMO are an excellent spring. They come with several dead coils. Had them in the rear for a little while with two dead coils cut and they rode great.

what kind of springs did you have on your civic dx?IPDS or H&R. IPDS shipping is outrageously priced. l looked at my rear from behind and it has dropped even more l cant even see my tires.my front has also raised to the point that l can clearly see the struts and the labels on it.IPDS coil has good reviews but the price of shipping is keeping me back from getting it.its crazy

HR means bigger tires. Volvo's ride high. I guess they simply didn't want anyone hitting the bottom of the car on anything. If you want the same ride & hight, just go get a spring or two out of the junk yard. Other than that, there is not much about springs to get worked up about. The R's rode kinda hard in the first place.

H&R's before and after. Not a ton of drop. They settled a bit but I ended up cutting two coils out of the rear later. You can only tell by looking at the curb behind the car. About an 1" drop. Do I like them...yes! With the bars and shocks it takes serious turns.

H&R I believe it was. that was 6 years ago that civic was my first car (sweet car too) had it 2 months before I was t-boned by someone texting while driving. at a 4 way stop intersection.

I only had the rears in. I had Koni DIY coilovers in the front at the time, but the rear springs rode great with two coils cut.

Yes, you will want to watch tire size, but running wider wheels doesn't necessarily mean issues. It's all about offset. You could have a 9" wide wheel in the back compared to the stock 6.5" and if it has the necessary offset, will poke just as far as the 6.5" would.

Have you searched on Volvospeed yet? You will find a million reviews there with pictures.

And yes. You are putting in a sport spring that also lowers the car. The ride will be quite a bit rougher.

Hey man:

Sport suspension = Hard ride.
Lowering springs = Less tire clearance
Shi& = Stink.
