Lightbulb Head Lights and Fog Lights

I'm satisfied with my head lights but my fog lights really suck. I can not see any benifit in having them on. When I flip the switch, I see no change in the view on the road.

I was trolling iPd's site and seen a lot of light bulbs. Some of which can be installed in the stock head light assembly and maybe even the stock fog light assemblies.

Have anyone tried these or could anyone shine some light on this subject? I would consider replacing the bulbs in my headlights and/or fogs to get better lighting.

DO NOT GO WITH THE SILVERSTARS for the fog lights (unless they have plastic bases).

Yes I have them for my headlights and love them but they are 9006 bulbs with plastic bases. Silverstars burn hotter and don't last as long due to the higher output, hotter filament but it's acceptable in the ones with plastic bases (to me at least). The plastic based ones will make it a year or three depending on if they are used for your daylight running lights.

But the metal based Silverstars like the H3s that fit the fogs lights burn out fast, real fast.
I've had friends burn out these metal based ones in under a month. Not just one person, not just one car and not just one set. These are people I know are not touching them when installed. I've seen this as a trend and at 35-50 bucks a pair depending on where you buy them is it worth the risk ??

Try the Phillips night guides or some other brand but don't go with metal based Silverstars.

RSPI, what do your fog light lenses look like ?? They may be getting cloudy the way headlights do and replacing the lenses instead of the bulbs might give you more "bang" for the buck ??

Yes the lenses look like crap, they are near the ground. But so did the fogs on the 960... Where can one get fog light lenses? I had the same issue on my sedan so I just figured the fogs were crap.

Plastic lenses? NO need to replace them...
Wet sand them with 1500 then 2000 then 3000 grit then buff them with Plastx
MeguiarsDirect.com: PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish
Good as NEW!

Other wise, Ive had H3 silverstars in the fogs of the lexus for almost 3 years now.. no problems... Installer error maybe... LOL J/K

You can always try LED H3's..

Id go HID though. Cheap easy and BRIGHT
