Default Head work is underway....valve seal question

Hey guys..been a while since i've posted...been taking care of a lot of little stuff on the car while the turbo is out being rebuilt. I since decided to have a valve job done on it...just want to make it flow a little better.

So I just got back from the shop taking a look at my head now that it's apart for the valve job. I got a set of the valve seals from FCP but they seem to be super tight on the valves. The guy doing the work on the head just wanted me to double check that they are correct ones. He did mention that the old ones he took off the valves were on very tight and they just fell apart as he removed them.

But looking at one of the old seals vs the new, the old one is a larger inside diameter, prolly by 1mm. Old one is ~7mm, and the new ones are ~6mm. gonna take the seals in to measure them w/ calipers at work tomorrow. Just want to double check to make sure i've got the right ones.

Haynes lists the valve stem diameter of 0.262" - 0.2744".

Has anyone who's changed out their valve stem seals noticed this, or had any issues when changing them for new ones?

Thanks

The new ones will look a little smaller.
The older ones will look larger due to age and temps over the years.

They're the same seals for intake and exhaust right?

Several of the new seals i got(8 of 20) look different...mainly in color. Some have a darker almost bronze color on the metal shell, where as the other 12 have a lighter silver color.

As far as I know they should all be the same maybe the kit was made when they ran out of the one type and they had to use another type but the same seal.
