When we did mine we took the intake manifold off and losened the power steering and kind of moved it out of the way. We left the exhaust manifold on and removed it on the workbench after lifting the two together off the car. On the intake manifold you don't have to remove the bottom bolts, just losen them. The infake manifold has slots that slide over the bolts. That makes it much easier to get back on. You will probably want new head bolts for putting the head back on along with the new gasket. Mine is a Turbo, so I'm not sure if yours in the same. I looked for a website to help you out, but did not find one.

I took this picture myself.
Hope it helps.
Cylinder head torque specs stage 1 15 Ft.lb
stage 2 44 Ft.lb
stage 3 130 degrees Tighten working from the center out.

I can't find the Cam cover specs but I think it is like 15 Inch Lbs or something like that/

Haven't had it at the track to run yet. (Smacks self in the Head)
Never ran it for a base line before modding it.

Stage 3 would be after the torque specs about were done.

Example: Torque all bolts to 15 FT.lbs
Then torque them to 44 FT.lbs
Then 130 Degrees
