Hi there,

I have a '95 850 T-5. All of a sudden my headlights won't come on.

I have checked the bulbs and the fuses, all seems OK. Occassionally the headlights will flick on for a while, but just as quickly they go out again and the warning light on the dash stays on all the time.

Has anyone got any suggestions on where I can start looking for a fix - or at least a cause?

i dont know if this has anything to do with it but my dash lights would go off after a a short period of time so i moved the slider to the level of the dash lights a little and that fixed it. So if the slider is all the way up they just shut off

 

Check the Headlight switch.
At one time there was a recall on them because they would break and fall apart.
Try pushing in on the switch. Does it feel really loose when you try turning it?

 

Thanks for the suggestion. I had a look at the switch, seems tight and fine. The parking lights work as does the high-beam, its just the low-beam that won't come on. I guess I'm off to the auto-electrican tomorrow.
