Robert thanks for the notes. I'm new to the 850R (my daughter bought 1, so I'll be fixing it). JimKW, super moderator put your link on a helpful hint page for me. I was watching the heat video. It didn't really help me, except for the fact that you pointed out where the fan is (which what isn't working). I sure I will be watching you videos as I move forward.

 

What's going on with it? If the fan is not working in any speed, put 12v to it to see if it comes on. The blower might be bad.

Thanks for the reply. I think it will be the heater blower motor. It was squeeking and then stopped. I have a friend who said he was junking a s70. It has a blown motor. He said I could pull some parts off for my daughters car. He thought it was 850. Are the parts going to fit...mostly?

 

The blower motors on the x70 cars are larger and will not fit on the 850's. Many other parts do.

 

What are some of the parts that can be used. Radiator?? A dead deer was hit and need to replace the radiator. Second question do you have a video to help me along.

What's up with the idiot statement?

 

When asking my questions, they seemed very basic. I didn't want you to think I knew nothing. I've been working on cars since I was a kid and I love it, but with new cars (meaning new to me) I ask a bunch of novice questions. After I reread my statement, it certainly sounds like I am an idiot (or at least someone who doesn't reread what he wrote.

 

Man, ask all the questions you want, no one will think you're an idiot unless you do something idiotic like pump fuel in the top of the motor and ask if it's ok to put fuel in the oil filler hole.
