A Google search should have brought this video up. Let me know if you tried and did not see it.

were you using a Torx bit? I only ask because you said hex. Also, Im pretty sure you can get new style bolts at the dealership cheap so you won't have this problem again

There isn't an updated bolt that I know of. They still use torx. Using the wrong size is usually what causes them to strip (or using an allen instead)

another option is to dremel the head to allow a flat head screw driver.

Better yet go to the hardware store and get a metric hex headed bolt or even a cap head screw that does use a hex.
Use anti-seize when you put the new ones in !!!

Whoever designed that housing was a bastard IMO. You can't get a tool in there.

Actually the best way that I found was to lean over it with a bit on a speed handle and pop it.

I think this is what ES6T was talking about. I have a set but for the average guy they are a bit overkill. It will allow you to get past the fuel line and straight on the screw.

That'll work. Also, I have seen torque sets like allen sets. They work pretty good also.

They stock the angle set at Sears. I got the screws out without buying it, but I just thought that was a dumb place to use a torx.

that's what I used and rounded the bolt.the bolt was weak anyways. It was stupid for Volvo to use that kind of bolts Imo

Those things are all over the place. This video shows the best way I have gotten them broke loose. Batting 1,000 so far, go to 25:00.
