Default Heater blower problems, volvo 850 turbo, wagon 1994

Hello,

Recently a bought a Volvo 850 wagon turbo 1994 with heating problems.
It is a ECC .The blower was shot so i changed and now the blower works all time on high speed regardless of the switch or key or anything else. The only way to stop is to remove the fuse # 5 ECC blower (speed 4) or disconnect the blower, or the battery.
I read that may be the blower resistor the problem, so I changed the resistor to, but the problem still persists. The blower runs all time. Even if I disconnect the ECC control panel ( switch) or the resistor.
And on plus it blows only cold air no heat at all.

Thanks.

Hello Piloti2,

Sounds like a silly question but, are you sure that you have everything connected correctly?

Are you sure that there isnt a short/open somewhere?

Are you saying that the fan comes on as soon as you turn the key?

I read it as the fan is on high speed all the time regardless if the key is in the on or off position. If this is the case, then you definitely have a short somewhere. Do you still have the old blower motor? If so, I would install it just to see if the new(er) blower motor is not the culprit.
