Default heater controls- inconsistent heat temps

Drivers side heat is lower than pssngr side even when the temp is at same setting. Noticed that sometimes the heat will be nice and hot say at 70* and other times 70* will feel lukewarm. What should I look out for that is wearing out or are there any adjustments I can make?

THanks

Does your car have mcc or Ecc?
Ecc is the electric system. If you have the Auto setting on the climate module then you have ECC.Also the ECC has the numbers for the temp.
One of the motors might be bad and not work all the time if you have ECC.

Thanks Tech, I do have the ECC system and my fan seems to be working fine but what affects the temp settings? Does the fan do this or is there a thermostat of some kind that determines the temp for both the pssngr and driver side. I guess my concern is that at the same temp setting the driveres side feels cooler that the pssngr side. Does the sun sensor hav anything to do with this?

Thanks again

Up by your grab handles on both side of the car there should be a incabin temp sensor which helps determin temp for both sides. The sensor is inside the little plastic peice that just looks like a hole in the plastic.

Actually, how can I tell if it's bad? Is it something you just replace? Is there a way to check it?

Thanks

When you first start the car does the lights on the climate module blink?

You can also have the dealer calibrate the motors. to make sure one isn't out of adjustment.

No they don't blink. I read up on the diagnostics and my car isn't giving me any codes. It's suttle and I can live with it for now but it's something I'll watch and maybe figure out. It's warming up here in Washington so I'll probably be using AC more in the next few weeks. Hopefully the AC system is ok!

thanks again

What's it mean when the lights blink? Mine blink for quite a while when I first start it up, but everything works fine.

I think it means to check your codes for a fault in the cooling and/or heating system. If you have the Haynes 850 manual it's page 3-10.

Yes if the lights flash that means there is codes/a fault in the system.
