Default Help with CEL

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post. Looks like this site has lots of good information. Recently the check engine light on my '94 850 Turbo has come on. I remember reading somewhere that you could pull the codes from the ECU without the use of an scanner/reader. Can someone give me clear idea on how to do this. Thanks in advance, take care.

- Jerry

Use that site to learn how and then tell us what you have and we can guide you from there.

Thanks for the help. I came up with fuel codes 132 and 232. When I connected the jumper to terminal #6 nothing happened...is this normal....or should it have blinked 1-1-1. Thanks again for the help, let me know what you think.

132 Battery Voltage to low
232 Long term fuel trim(Vaccum leak) But sometimes the code will pop up pretty much for no reason

Is there a wire in 6?
Some don't have the wire.

Check for vacuum leaks especially at the elbows. A lot of the hoses could be dry and brittle.
I bought a silicone vacuum hose kit and am replacing mine slowly.
