Help!!!!! to decide
Hi. So here is the deal. There's a guy who is giving away an 850 basically for nothing, but, as usual there's a serious problem with it. He says there's a problem with the oil pump. So i was wondering if some you you more experienced folks out there could help a fool not make a mistake with this. The question is, is it worth it. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks
It's a non turbo 2.4 5 speed manual. I am capable of doing most of the work my self except for the tune ups and other precise stuff. Do you think it would be possible to put in a turbo in it with the transmission for the regular one?
The trans might take it, but I would suggest getting a better clutch.
Turboing a NA will take money to get it going. How much is the guy asking?
I would probably hold out and find a turbo model with a stick.

Or take the car and part it out from there.
Alot of people are looking for the manual transmissions to convert their cars.
You can most likely sell the tranny and all parts for about 1k alone.

I have a couple of ways to do this. either use it for parts for my 850, which is stick and is the same colour. Or put in a new or rebuilt standard 2.4 engine in it just to get this running. By the way the guy wants 500$ for it. he wanted 750 and took off 250$ right away, so that seemed a bit suspicious. So thanks for replying so fast guys. You've been a great help
$500 for a part car is not bad. I would get it for parts and for all the stuff you don't need, I would do what tech said. Make a "part-out" in the for sale section on this forum and sell the parts. If you can get it running, you could probably turn around and sell it as a rebuilt/new car
