Exclamation help! help!

when i turn the air on in my car it makes a brief squealing noise and dies, what is this and how can i fix it? someone please help.

Sounds like your ac compressor has locked up. Replace compressor.

With the engine NOT RUNNING, see if you can turn the compressor by hand. It should turn with minimal effort.

is there any way i can run the blower mower without running the ac

Caused by just age or if any service was performed, maybe the oil was not put back in.


Easiest way to keep the compressor from coming on is to unhook the wire to the low pressure switch. Look at the passenger side firewall. See the two black tubes? The larger tube has switch screwed in vertically. Unhook the wire that is plugged into it.

You can turn the AC switch off, the makes the clutch disengage.

Does the blower motor in the car work fine?

Except when defrost is used. It engages the ac even when the ac switch is off

disconnect the AC compressor clutch connector- that'll disable the compressor.
