Help me figure out what I have
I found a list from the, maybe, first owner of my car from 2001 that states that he added various things some of which I can confirm and some I need help identifying so if anyone can help I would appreciated it.
1) IPD ECU for $785.00 -any idea how to tell?
2) IPD sport exhaust $635.00 - Yes I have that
3) IPD front and rear sway bars $240.00- What is the stock thickness
4) K&N air filter $45 -Not any more
5) H&R sport springs $100.00 -How can I tell
6) Bilstein struts & shocks $400.00- I think I still have these
7) Window tint - $200.00 -yes
8) Volvo CD changer $210.00 -yes but I took it out and replaced the radio

The IPD sway bars are blue. The stock ones are black/rusty.
I don't know on the ECM but I would think they would have a sticker on it. Have you pulled the cover and tried to see if there is anything on it ??
How to ID the springs ????

The ECU has a number 8.4 on it that I think tells what it is. I saw an ebay add that said that was for a T5
I'm thinking that maybe the springs might have lowered the car so I am trying to find out what the stock ride height is.
Disconnect the battery before you pull the ECU. If IPD had anything to do with the current one, it has some kind of iPd markings on it. If not, it was pulled and the stock one was re-installed.
I called IPD and they said the springs would be blue and would lower the car. They also said if I have their sway bars they would be 25mm and probably gold. They told me they do not mark their ECUs, thats hard to imagine.
They reprogram your ECM. I'm not sure if they add a chip to do it. You need to send them your ECM and they do the programming and send it back.
Cheaper to go with Lucky at ARD and I think from what I've read it's a little more tailored to a specific application. He even asks if you do or don't have a snaab intake on the turbo, makes a difference.

Remember I'm talking about things bought in 2001. I ordered new plugs, rotor and cap and after I put them in I'll try some runs to see what pressures I get. It sounded like the guy bought a new ECU not sending the old one in to be reprogrammed.

From IPD's web site it looks like they used to be able to send you the IPD reprogrammed one with a $1,000 deposit so it was a simple pull the stock ECM and plug in the IPD ECM and you had no down time. It now states they don't stock any ECMs any longer and you need to send one in.
But, that still doesn't help you ID if you have the IPD unit in there now.
