Hello,
I'm gonna be doing a headgasket soon. I was just wondering about how long you guys have replaced them in? My dad and I will be doing it. He's a pretty experienced mechanic, but not on Volvos.

 

I would say, based on my experience, that two folks doing it (with one of them being an experienced mechanic) could get it done in a weekend. BUT - you have to factor in getting the head planed/resurfaced and a valve job done (both are good preventive measures) at a shop. Not only does their turnaround have to be factored in, but they may not be open but M-F also. Best of luck on it. I have a tutorial that shows every step (with pictures and torques).
