Default Battery Hold-Down (850)

How does the battery hold-down on a 1995 850 work? I can't figure out which way it goes on, how exactly it clips in place, etc. Description or a pic or two would be very welcome.

Many thanks,
gratakon

I believe you guys can figure it out by yourselves. The hold-down plastics should be mounted in front (closer to the front bumper end), and I believe there was only one way to fit them. Play with them and it should not be difficult. If it is, give us a buzz again and I'll try to find a pic (I've been trying to catch up with the last 4 weeks of posts so please excuse me for not providing a pic at this moment).

Mine has 1, slide the battery all the way over to the drivers side fender then put the clamp on the pax side of the battery. If you still don't have it by Monday night post back and I can snap a pic for you.

Mine just had one. I took it off, changed the battery, then couldn't get it back on. After five seconds of my fidgeting, it broke in half (old, brittle plastic). Waiting for another in the mail, and will repost if I still can't figure it out.

You have to have the exact right size battery with the proper lip on the bottom. That's the key. You push the battery all the way against the fender and the platic piece should clip onto the tray and around the front corner of the battery away from the fender. If it's the right battery it could not be any easier to put on. You really have to have the right lip on the bottom of the battery though.
