Hood Latch nightmare - Please Help!
I bought a 1995 Volvo 850 GLT Sedan and the passenger side hood latch will not grab the hood loop no matter what I do.
I took the hood latch off and make it work freely again. Put it back on the exact same spot it was in... and nothing. Moved the bracket to the top of its adjustments... still nothing.
Well today I noticed RHD VISIBLE and LHD VISIBLE markings on one side of the latch and the other. Well both hood latches have LHD VISIBLE showing the way I found them.
So obviously one of them is backwards and I do not know from which direction they reference left and right.
Does anyone know?
Also, when I push the latch down with a screwdriver without the cable connected it closes and the lever trips like it should. with the cable from the drivers side attached to it, it wont let the lever trip so the latch never closes.
I really dont know what to do. but I cant let my hood be unsecured and risk the other latch failing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
