Hood latch problem
Well, i removed my grille and used the spray on plastidip to paint it black (got the info from searching this board...left the surround and diagonal stripe chrome, it looks great!). Well, when i went to put it back on i've noticed my hood latch doesn't work right. It works, but i can't get the little lever that pops through the grille to go back in all the way, and i have to manually pull the latch out in order to be able to close it. I've looked at it, but can't see any other way for it to go back in. If anyone has a picture of their latch so i could see how it's supposed to be configured i'm sure i could figure this out. Or if you could talk me through it that'd be great. Thanks!!
This happened to me as well. I just unbolted the latch in the middle (thereare 2other clamps that hold the hood down)
So now when I pop the hood I just have to lift it- nomiddle latch to mess with.
Looks cleaner too, without the lever sticking out

Yeah...having been at track events and seeing how other people's hoods (and possibly windshields) have been saved by the safety latch, i think i'd like to keep it. Thanks for the suggestion, though yert.
A pic would be greatly appreciated, tech. Thanks!

I too will try to get a picture if no one else can get one, AND my son lets the car sit still long enough. DON'T remove the safety latch. It is there for a reason. My Dad always used to tell me, auto makers are not going to spend more to make a car then they have to, so if something is on the car, it is usually there for a reason.
Crap, I forgot. Now it's cold and dark so I don't want to do it. I'll get one forsure by tomorrow.
Edit: I can't find my camera....Sorry for the false promises. [&o] There is one in my dad's car, so I'll use that when he gets back.
