HOW BAD IS IT? transmission
I'm broke and need the cheapest way to fix. Looking for some suggestions.
Just bought this car 97 850 turbo a few months ago and when I was driving in town to the store I noticed that when trying to go after red light turned green it didn't seem to want to go. It took rpms to get going but once going it was fine so long as I didnt have to stop at a red light. red arrow light was flashing. after sitting about an hour it was fine light stopped flashing. This problem would come and go. Changed fluid twice now and the light flashing is constant but the shifting problem still comes and goes. I was told it was a shifting sensor/cylinoid. I need to travel 800 miles to go up north and dont feel safe about driving it but have no choice. How serious is this and how much will it cost to have this repaired? Can anybody plz help me.

Bring it over here, I will help you.
Other than that, try driving it with the WINTER button pushed, see if it drives off slowly without an issue. When my transmission had a bad 1st gear I simply pushed the Winter button ever time I came to a stop and drove it like that. When I picked up the car nearly 1,600 miles away the transmission was bad.
Make sure the level is correct, sounds like you did that. The level has to be checked with the car running.
