How do you remove rear seat bottom cushion?

How do you remove rear seat bottom cushion?
Another basic question, but how do you remove the rear seat
bottom cushion on the 850 sedan? I've pushed backward and
pulled up but it doesn't seem to come loose.
There's actually no good reason for my doing this, I really just
like to take things apart. :-)
Thanks, John

RE: How do you remove rear seat bottom cushion?
Hello John,
I just looked into my Hxxnes and write their procedure. Since I am not posting this for profit-making purpose, I believe it's legal, or I can juts change the wordings.
a. Free the cushion from the retaining clips by lifting the front edge, and remove the cushion.
b. Make sure that safety locking catches in the trunk, on either side of the backrest, are up then pull the release catch forward and fold down the backrest.
c. Move one side of the backrest toward the side of the vehicle and at the same time lift up. Remove one side of the backrest then remove the other side in the same way.
I've never removed the seat cushions, but I once removed the side arm rests (which is necessary to replace the trunk lid actuator rods), and the arm rests are press-fit, so I just pulled them off.
I hope this helps.

RE: How do you remove rear seat bottom cushion?
Hello again John,
I found another instruction in the owner's guide. Here's it:
1. Fold the rear seat cushion toward the back of the front seats.
2. Release the red catches (seem to be at the bottom of the arms that attach the cushion to the car).
3. Disconnect the connector for the rear seat heating (certain models).
4. Fold the cushion back to a nearly horizontal position.
5. Lift out the cushion.
I hope this helps.

RE: How do you remove rear seat bottom cushion?
Hi JPN and tech,
Thanks for the help, that got it. The wire loops that hold the cushion down were bent toward
the front of the car. I had to push the seat cushion hard toward the back of the car to get it loose.
I don't know how someone got it in like that. I bent the loops back so they were pretty much
vertical and now it's easy to get in and out.
Shucks I was hopin' for some hidden treasure under there, but only leaves and sand,
not a single cent.
