Default I invented my own HD Sway Bar links!

97/98/99 AWD guys if this hasnt happened.. it will. I got a quote at the dealer for 280$ each sway bar, so i decided to spend an hour of my time underneath a 98 V70 R AWD parts car ripping them out.
Reason: I broke 1 so i found one used and replaced it, a few weeks later i changed my rack and pinion and went for an alignment, they told me there was a problem they couldnt do it properly because there was a broken sway bar.. COME ON! i just changed one.. the other one had broke.

Now i bought 2 used ones (20$) each, and had them welded up (20$ each) into something i should never ever have to worry about again, also it could be a performance upgrade given the extra strength. Now i need to go have my car aligned again.
Just need some paint and it'll look like new.

he used 2 different thinkness metals, which could equal to different weights, but i dont think it'll change anything.

well, those are for the front, and its clear to me the name. in the back they dont really link the sway bar to anything.

Those things you made were for the front right? I believe the rear attach to the frame, no need for the links.

Then I don't know the proper name for those. I'll look into it. Maybe trailing arm links.

I see you have a AWD, and I hear/read people say that those cars have a lot of issues, are they just complaining about nothing or are there really things to be concerned about. I was thinking about getting a '98 V70 R.

well, yes. If you want your AWD to work its a real pain. If you dont care just take care of the front end and screw the rear end, remove the driveshaft. If you want it to work, then probably you will have some work and money to spend..

Either way the gas lines tend to rot out (maybe just here because of our salty winters) the handbrake cables always break, they have almost no performance/ suspension mods for the rear end.

I guess I'll keep looking for a nice 850 T-5R wagon.

however the fully independant rear supension is a better design anyway, so you dont need to mod it. Except nivomats, they suck.
