Default Ignition problems

Hey there!!! I've been having a problem with my check engine light coming on. It started a few days ago, but let me give you a little insight. About a week ago, I changed my rotor, distributor, and plugs. I checked a few of the wires, and the ohms reading was about 2KOhms. Like I said, a few days ago the check engine light came on, I drove it to an AutoZone for an OBDII check, and it said that it had something to do with the ignition. I checked to make sure that I did everything right, and it all looked good. I then checked all the wires, and the one from the coil to the distributor read about 1MOhms. That seemed very high, so I ordered some wires. I'm waiting for them to come in tomorrow, but what I was going to do in the mean time was check the coil itself. I don't know how, or what readings I should get. Could someone tell me? I have a 1995 850 GLT (2.4L with no turbo) automatic transmission. the coil also has what looks like a power transisitor connected. How can I check that also? Thanks!!!

My book shows Between 1 and 15 should be 0.5+- 10% 1 and HT(NOT sure what HT is) should be 6-7KOHms

Hope it helps

Okay, I've checked the coil. The primary winding (between the red and blue wire terminals) is about .5 Ohms. The secondary winding (beween the blue wire terminal and the main terminal that goes to the distributor) is 8 kOhms. The Power transistor is as follows; terminals 1-2, .1 Ohms; 1-3, open; 1-4, 2.7 kOhms; 2-3, open; 2-4, 2.7 kOhms; and 3-4, open. What do you thing????

What about the wires? Are the readings normal, or out of spec? I though that 1 MOhm was pretty high, but what do I know??????

It Doesn't show Coil wire but here are what the book says the Readings should be.
Cyl1 4.5 Cyl2 4.0 Cyl3 3.3 Cyl4 2.9 Cyl 2.3
They are supposed to be that K Ohms+-20%

It the Date code on them is over 5 Years I would change them.
